W3C to drop the OGG default video format
Ian hickson has recently announced that due to too much discord between browser vendors, ogg will not be included in the HTML5 spec as the default video format.
Apple doesn’t want it , opera and Mozilla doesn’t want h264 and Microsoft just doesn’t care. I am pretty sure they would like to implement Silverlight instead of the video tag.
The funny quote : “Microsoft has not commented on their intent to support <video> at all.”
All the drama here.
